Energy Conservation

In 2016, the Board of Trustees prepared a One- And Five-Year Capital Facilities Plan to articulate goals, prioritize projects, and communicate
to the congregation. The one- and five-year plan and a related Landscape and Development Plan identified energy conservation and
benefiting the environment as important goals.

Potential energy projects listed in 2016 included replacing 30-year old heating and cooling systems with high-efficiency heat pumps, adding
continuous insulation on the outside of uninsulated concrete block walls, and replacing two old and inefficient refrigerators. The first two
projects would save an estimated $500 and $700 in electricity per year, respectively, based on an energy audit conducted in 2016 by the
Lincoln Electric System.

Updates to the one- and five-year plan have identified additional energy conservation projects, as funding and opportunity arise.
