The Aldersgate Book Club (ABC) is a group of readers who enjoy meeting to discuss a common book. We currently offer two book clubs to meet various schedules: Aldersgate Book Club - Day (ABC-D) and Aldersgate Book Club - Evening (ABC-E). Within each group, we choose one book each month, most available at the public library in print and as an audio-book. We read a variety of fiction and nonfiction. Typically the books are One Book - One Lincoln nominees.
Meetings:
ABC-D (days) meets at 1:30pm on the first Wednesday of the month.
ABC-E (evenings) meets at 7pm on the third Tuesday of each month.
~Upcoming book selections and discussions are noted on the calendar
Members volunteer to host a meeting at their home or at the church in the Fellowship Hall. The host provides a dessert/snack and drinks. Contact the Church Office for details about location of upcoming meetings.
Each August we have our annual Movie Night. We select two movies made from some of our recently read books and meet on the second or third Friday for a pot-luck salad supper and a double feature. We don’t meet in December due to the busy holiday season.
Other Information:
This is a very informal social opportunity. Join us for some insightful conversation, and a whole lot of fun. Everyone is welcome – not all of the ABC members are members of Aldersgate.
