Matt Talbot Kitchen...
To serve one supper meal a month, Aldersgate volunteers gather food, transport it, cook and serve it at the Matt Talbot Kitchen near downtown Lincoln. Each month, numerous adults, teenagers and children are served a hot and healthy meal by these volunteers. Volunteers can bring donated food to the church, help cook and serve the meal, or clean up afterwards.
Eastridge Food Pantry...
Food collection and monetary donations are taken all year to help stock the Eastridge food pantry. Aldersgate volunteers work whenever needed with people from Eastridge to box up foodstuffs and personal items that will be delivered to the needy. Food and monetary donations may be left in the grocery cart in the Fellowship hall. Volunteers are needed when it is our turn to box the items for delivery.
Artisans...
The Aldersgate Artisans meet each Tuesday morning to do a variety of maintenance work around the church. For example, they take care of the memorial prayer garden. After completing the tasks for the week, the group shares fellowship over coffee and cookies.
Peace Advocates...
The Peace Advocates is a local support group that works for Peace with Justice, helping to sponsor the yearly "Peace with Justice" Sunday. The Peace Advocates were instrumental in placement of the Peace Pole near the entrance of the church.
Nebraska United Methodist Bike (NUMB) Ride...
Annually, several members of Aldersgate have participated in the NUMB ride. People give pledges to each rider, which goes to the Nebraska United Methodist church for work on local, national and international hunger projects.
