Dick and I want to thank family and friends for prayers, visits, cards, food and flowers while Dick was in the hospital and now in the nursing home. Also for Marie as she has been having more tests and surgery. We have been so blessed.

I wish to thank all our Aldersgate family for your prayers, messages, thoughtful acts and many kindnesses shown to us during my recent illness. It is a source of healing strength, knowing that God works through our close friends in a mysterious sort of way. I look forward to being there in worship services with all of you.

A special thank you to those of you who have pledged or already given to support the work of UMW for the 2013 year. As you know, we are not included in the church budget and must provide our own funds. Your help is vitally important

Our unit hosted the Lincoln area observance of World Day of Prayer on March 1. Thanks to those of you who provided food and/or helped serve that morning, and also to those who took the service to Holmes Lake Manor on the following Thursday and to Legacy Estates the next day.

Those helping at one or more of those events were Martha, Gail, Jeanette, Marjory, Jane, Shirley, Sheila, Stacey, Pat, Ruby, Bettyand myself.

A very special thank you to Jeanette who helped me rewrite a long program into a suitable length for the care center and retirement home.

We have access to excellent books from the Conference Library. Talk to Pat if you like to read books that inform and challenge.

Mavis, UMW President

I’d like to express my gratitude for the thoughtful expressions of sympathy I received from so many nice people at Aldersgate upon the passing of my Mom on January 24 – and my aunt on January 17. I sincerely appreciate your kind thoughts and prayers.
Blessings, Pat

Thank all of you!
I want to thank all of those who sent cards of love and sympathy at the time of my mother’s death. I was deeply moved and comforted by your support and words of prayer for my strength to lean on God and loved ones.
As always I turn to my canvas for release and a closer “walk” with Jesus. All are welcome to come and view how Jesus works in my life at the Art Show Saturday, March 16, 1-3 p.m. at the Noyes Art Gallery, 119 South 9th St.
Love and miss all of my Aldersgate family.
Thanks & Love,
Doris

Thank you to Bill Nelson and Harry Kellenbarger for stepping up and leading worship at the very last minute on January 20! That morning I was suddenly ill with the stomach flu. Thank God there are leaders in our congregation that can quickly take charge and do what is needed! Thank you, guys, again!

To the knitters at Aldersgate U.M. Church,
Thank you so very much for the prayer wrap that was delivered to me by my aunt Esther! And thank you for your prayers for my recovery! The wrap has been a wonderful means of warmth on the cold winter evenings when the chill seems to invade the house. Thankfully, I believe my recovery is progressing, even if it’s more slowly than I would like. As I heal, I am thankful to be part of the family of God! Thanks also for “giving up” Esther’s company to me for 10 days! She has been a helpful companion in my home and we have enjoyed the opportunity to visit!
Tamra
